Job Purpose

Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre (GPLC) at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new Mercia Park campus, one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer. You will co-ordinate and control the inbound and outbound movement of Aftermarket Parts globally across all transport modes, achieving this through executing the processes and procedures required in an accurate and timely manner to minimise any delay to the customer.
Competencies, Skills and Experience
You’ll have a good awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards, As an excellent communicator you know how to listen effectively and have professional spoken and written skills, You’ll have good IT skills in Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite - SAP experience would be a real advantage, You’ll have experience of working in a warehousing environment – and an understanding of Transport and / or Distribution would be an advantage, Understanding the need for customer focus, you’ll be used to achieving targets and working to timescales that must be achieved., You’ll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple queries and processes at the same time, and thrive on the pressure this can sometimes bring, With experience of adapting to programmes of change, you’ll help solve problems and will thrive in an environment of continuous improvement where you get to help develop processes and procedures to ensure the ultimate service for the customer
Principal Accountabilities
Be responsible for the global shipping and transportation activities covering road, sea and air inbound and/or outbound from Mercia Park Ensure the timely and unhindered movement of goods and resolution of exceptions, damage, late or mis-delivery and resolution/ recovery of such situations in conjunction with the carrier, warehouse operation and transport teams Manage the process from order shipment from a customer or supplier, through to carrier booking, generation of shipping documentation and compliance in accordance with local and customer requirements/regulations
